How odd. It may have been a case of either the export option for MV somehow not placing the file in, a version incompatibility or something else... I'll take the linux version down until I figure out a solution.
Found a fix for the issue - Arch Linux users should install the 'lib32-gconf' package from the Arch User Repository, and Debian/Ubuntu users should install the 'libgconf-2-4' package using apt. GConf is an old, outdated package that used to be a dependency for Chromium on Linux, and RPG Maker MV games are running through Chromium. Guess MV just never removed the dependency, or its using an old version of Chromium.
Also, the game should be launched with the "nw" executable, not the "Game" executable on Linux since for some reason that doesn't work
If neither of those work - download version 0.38.2 of NW.js (https://nwjs.io/blog/v0.38.2/) and drop all the files into the root of the Cerasus folder... NW.js version 0.38.2 specifically is apparently the best for Linux compatibility with RPG Maker MV games
Hello! I downloaded this game for my Mac, however, even when going through the process of allowing my Mac to run the game, it still doesn't open. I just get a crash window pop-up. I'm not sure if there's something else I should do, or if it's something else. My current Mac version is "Ventura 13.2.1".
No, I haven't, but I'll try it. If it doesn't work otherwise, then I still want to thank you for creating this game. From the screenshots, the colors look very lovely and the backdrops/maps are very pleasing!
I loved this! The areas were varied, interesting and plentiful! None of the areas ever felt too confusing or convoluted. Some of the things you see in the game are weird, surreal, funny, and scary, enlisting a range of emotions for the player. The sound and music design was compelling. There’s neat features like being able to play an instrument and a lot more collectibles to go after. This game feels incredibly faithful to the concept of the original. But by adding and trying out new ideas, I think it makes this game it’s own unique experience. I’m hoping you’ll be able to have a completed game someday! Incredible work, keep it up! Looking forward to what’s next.
Trying to do a 1 day tour of as many of the DDJ5 entries as I can. I started with this because I remembered it from last year but I don't think I got a chance to play it. Your environments are absolutely killer!
Salutations, my dear! I'm so happy you updated Cerasus after all this time. Unfortunately... I'm having considerable difficulty running the latest version. I checked the Read Me, which warned version Sprout can lag, but in my case, the game freezes up whenever I try to do the most fundamental things such as accessing the options and trying to load save data (from this version). This wasn't an issue in the original version. If it helps, I'm running Windows 7.
The lag on option access is a known issue that I will look in some time. For the rest such as loading save data, I'm not sure how or why would it happen, as the game has its clearing ways. Still, I will try and see why it happens.
This game has some really great art and visuals like the water having your reflection and the water-level. There are also some interesting images that pop up. I think I need a more linear game right now.
really good!! the maps are great and I became attached to reshnha, don't ask me why he is just endearing. I'm not sure if it's an MV problem, but I had some issues with buggy controls. reshna's speed is also quite high which is hard to get used to. still, I enjoyed this game a lot and look forward to any future developments!
In my humble opinion, this is the BEST entry to this year's DDJ. This game is p-h-e-n-o-m-e-n-a-l. The style and mood is outrageous and absurd and lovable. I went in expecting nothing and stumbled instead upon a hidden treasure trove. Thank you so much!
...That being said, there's something very familiar about this that I can't put my finger on. I've certainly never played anything like this before in terms of YNFGs. Like, I got a very weird feeling of deja vu when I saw Resh in his Suit for the first time. I swear I've seen a protagonist like him before. (That's not possible. That thing was a work in progress last I knew and I'm pretty sure the creator was a different person...?)
I think this has the best art I've seen in the jam. It's really cool, and if it weren't for the fact that it's 1:30 am and my brain is turning into sausage, I'd probably be playing more of this.
Possible bug: The very first time I ran the executable I played for about ten minutes. During that time, when I'd open my inventory, I didn't always see the icons for effects. Once I ran the program again, though, I didn't run into that issue. Video games, amirite??
I blame the way MV runs or loads images. Even with a preloader, there is a good chance the images won't load the first time. So, as much as I'd love to do it otherwise that's not gonna happen, at least in the current time.

Hi there! The Linux version of Cerasus doesn't seem to be working. There seems to be a library file missing. The error is as follows...
./Game: error while loading shared libraries: libgconf-2.so.4: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory
It's possible that this file was not bundled in with the release by mistake.

I wish you luck - with most commercial game engines, exporting to Linux is quite a bit finnicky 😅

I shall add your solution to the post. Thank you very much!

Did you run the game with wine? Otherwise I can't really help you, RPGMV can be like that.

hi! I dowloaded the Mac version, however, my Mac says the game cannot be opened...
Hello! This may be fixed if you place the game into the apps folder, as well as possibly change the game's permissions.
Sorry for taking so long, a lot of things have been happening on my end.
This game has some really great art and visuals like the water having your reflection and the water-level. There are also some interesting images that pop up. I think I need a more linear game right now.
Good job on the game!

(That's not possible. That thing was a work in progress last I knew and I'm pretty sure the creator was a different person...?)I mean, maybe it's Reshnha's overall design. If you know, you know ;9
